About The Backyard Sear

Most how-to content online is padded, vague, and written to rank on a search engine rather than to help. The Backyard Sear is the plain, practical version that should exist instead.

What we are

The Backyard Sear is a clear, honest how-to resource. Every guide gives you the real numbers, the exact steps, and one thing to do next, so you can read it in under 10 minutes and use it the same day. No filler, no gatekeeping, no padding written to hit a word count.

How we write

Plainly, and with specifics instead of vague advice. We name the trade-offs honestly, show the worked example, and leave out anything we would not tell a friend. If a guide reads like it was written for a search engine rather than a person, it does not ship.

How we stay free

Some of the gear and tools we mention are affiliate links, which earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. They never change what we recommend: we point to the option we would use ourselves, and we say when the cheaper one is the right call. See the affiliate disclosure for the full rule.

The one test for everything we publish

Could a friend say it to you across the table and have it actually help this week? If a guide passes that test, it ships. If it reads like filler, it gets fixed or cut.
